Version 2.0 Update

Here is some information on the Ver 2.0 Update, announced on June 14, 2024.

What is Ver 2.0?

As announced on the official X account, Eternal Crypt – Wizardry BC – (ECWiz) will undergo its first major update to Ver 2.0.

Contents of the update, previously announced as Ver 1.6, has been expanded into a major update to pursue both enjoyment of gameplay and the balance of tokenomics from the perspective of providing guild masters with a more enjoyable “ECWiz” experience. It will also be repositioned as a launchpad for the continuous growth of our project.

In addition to new in-game features, the Ver 2.0 update will also introduce a series of campaigns to attract new users and engage guild masters, both in-game and out of the game.

New Features

The major Ver 2.0 update focuses on introducing new adventurer-centric features and adjusting the balance between better gameplay experience and sustainable tokenomics to achieve both.

Adventurer Skills

Slot Skills will be Discontinued:
Adventurer skills were previously limited to 3 per adventurer and 7 additional per slot.
We will discontinue the allocation of slot skills so that all skills are held by the adventurers themselves, thereby enhancing the importance of each adventurer in party formations.

Adjustments to Adventurer Skill Possession:
Adjustments will be made so the amount of adventurer skills will depend on If the Adventurer is an NFT or not, or its rarity. This will enhance the gameplay benefits of High-rarity NFTs. New adventurer skills, some with effects previously available only through legacy items, will be introduced, offering more party formation variations.

Adventurer Skill Modification Function:
A new feature using a new item, “Rune”, will allow adventurer skills to be modified, adding customization and depth to gameplay. A feature to obtain NFT items for acquiring new adventurer skills by trading in (saying goodbye to) owned adventurers will be introduced as well.

Adjustment of Token Acquisition Logic

The Ver 2.0 update will adjust the $BC token acquisition logic to improve the gameplay balance and make it more enjoyable.
The previous token acquisition logic was designed so that dungeon progress and token acquisition were linearly linked. Although we were aware of user feedback regarding the difficulty in progressing through the main dungeon and the deterioration in gameplay experience, we found it challenging to make significant improvements to the gameplay experience, as a result of considerations for the tokenomics. Additionally, limiting the maximum floor progress that affects $BC token acquisition to 250 rooms (5-5 floors) discouraged users from exploring beyond that floor or returning to town at earlier stages due to its impact on token acquisition efficiency, hindering pure enjoyment of the gameplay.
With the Ver 2.0 update, we aim to introduce an updated token acquisition logic that complements a smooth and enjoyable gameplay balance and level design. Further details regarding the new token acquisition logic will be announced soon.

Grand Airdrop Campaign

To elevate excitement both within and outside the game in anticipation of Ver 2.0, we plan to unveil a series of campaigns and events in phases. A highlight among these will be a large-scale airdrop campaign.
An airdrop campaign is a common promotional tactic in the Web3 and crypto space, involving the distribution of tokens or NFTs as rewards to those who meet a specific criteria.
Our Airdrop will aim to gain new web3 / Crypto users and other people who are a good fit for this project involved, and to have fun while getting excited about the Ver 2.0 update together with all players of ECWiz. Rewards include $BC tokens and various NFTs, which will of course attract attention from new users, but we also hope to thank all users who have already been playing our game in some way, including those who have been playing hard since the Early Access.
We are working hard to make preparations for a hot summer of ‘ECWiz’, creating even bigger excitement outside the game as well.

Function Improvement Update

We understand that enhancing existing features alongside introducing new ones and balancing the game is crucial for an engaging gaming experience.
In particular, we’ve received several requests regarding the lengthy upgrade times for party slots and frequent errors during room transitions.
The development team is aware of the situation and is steadily progressing with improvements. They are implementing measures not only to speed up processing but also to lighten the load by splitting operations that were previously processed all at once into smaller, more manageable tasks. These kinds of improvements will continue to be made based on various acquired data on the playing conditions, while the development of new functions will be handled in a balanced manner from the point of view of project sustainability.

What’s next?

The Ver 2.0 update announced this time is scheduled to be implemented this summer.
The details introduced so far are only a small part of the overall functionality provided by the Ver 2.0 update, and further updates will continue to be announced on our official social media and website.
